Angel Tree 2020: The Season Of Giving With TLG Gives

To ring in the season of giving, TLG Gives, The Loken Group with Keller Williams’ philanthropic arm, initiated its charitable Angel Tree Project for the 5th year in a row. TLG Gives was able to surpass its goal of supporting 10 families, providing gifts to 12 different households. With the help from generous donors, sponsors, and fundraising efforts, team members raised over $15,000 to make the turbulent year’s holiday season a little easier for families who deserved it.

Each Angel Tree family received gifts that were specifically tailored to them, based on their personal necessities and interests. Although the presents are normally delivered in person, this year the TLG Gives committee members followed social distancing guidelines, learning the families’ stories over the phone and delivering the holiday goodies contactless.

We are eager to return to in-person deliveries in the future!

“Our TLG Family looks forward to helping Houston families celebrate the holidays each year,” shared Karina Loken, Co-Owner of the Loken Group. “With many folks facing unexpected challenges this year, we feel beyond blessed to have raised over $15,000 through our 501c3 organization, TLG Gives, and pour that money right back into our community to make Christmas memories extra special for 12 deserving families. In a year where we have needed to change many of our traditions, we are so thankful we could provide contactless delivery and keep our Angel Tree project going!”

TLG Gives received charitable donations from our many wonderful community partners, including Kelly Rogers Team of Movement Mortgage, Impact Title, Houston Inspections, Choice Home Warranty, and UNITS Houston.

Without them, this year’s TLG Gives Angel Tree Project wouldn’t have been as spectacular as it was.

“This year, we had set out to find 10 families to support and ended up with 12! We were thrilled to have that opportunity since it’s the most families we’ve ever been able to help in a single project.”, said Sydney Kempler, TLG Gives Coordinator. “We also managed to keep everything socially distanced while still getting all the warm fuzzy feelings we would normally get when delivering the gifts in person.”

TLG Gives is able to provide to others through honorable partnerships and donations, and you can help! We have our first annual Teeing Up for TLG Gives golf tournament in April, aimed to raise money for our next charitable endeavor.
