Chinatown

Fu Fu Café
9889 Bellaire Blvd #105
Houston, TX 77036
(713) 981-8818

Recommended by: Catherine Cates, Inside Sales Agent
“This place is perfect for those that have to work late on Monday and are happy with a casual dining experience. It’s open until 2am, and they are famous for their “soup dumplings” which are dumplings with soup IN the dumpling. You’ll want to order them right away when you sit as they take a while for them to make. Our order is usually the soup dumplings, sizzling black bean chicken, orange peel beef, and salt toasted spare ribs. We have ordered many different dishes that they have to offer – the pork and mustard green noodle soup, the stir-fried green beans with minced beef, the France style tofu, the pork and Napa cabbage dumplings, and many more – and have never been disappointed. They have truly delicious food!”

Cypress

Yannis Greek Taverna
13203 Jones Road
Houston, TX 77070
(832) 478-9155

Recommended by: Lauren Theriot, Inside Sales Agent
“What they lack in atmosphere they make up for in taste. They start you out with complimentary warm pita bread with a yummy dipping sauce. For the meal I like to get the chicken kabob with the grilled zucchini and substitute the rice for the Greek fries (they are shaped like chips). My husband likes to get the classic gyro with the Greek fries, and our kiddos love the fresh never frozen, hand battered chicken strips. If you like spicy make sure to ask for the home-made hot sauce – they make it in house (make sure you have a full glass of water ready because it’s hot, HOT!) The staff is incredibly sweet and you can always enjoy whatever your favorite alcoholic beverage is because it’s BYOB! Cheers!”

Houston, TX 77002

“Start out with the Maryland crab cake and the Down South cocktail. For the main course I would recommend the 8 oz. filet mignon with sides of their black truffle mac & cheese and crispy Brussel sprouts.”

EADO

Tiny Champions
2617 McKinney St
Houston, TX 77003
(713) 485-5329

Recommended by: Erin Wilcox, Copywriter
“Tiny Champions (@giantlosers on Instagram) has quickly made it’s way into my top favorite restaurants in the city! It can be hard to spot if you don’t know where you’re going, which makes it a real hidden gem! The atmosphere is super chill yet really unique and the staff is incredibly attentive. If you’re in the mood for a cocktail I would recommend the Mini Boss, and for your meal try the beef and pork Bolognese or the Fennel Sausage pizza. For dessert you have to get the coffee ice cream with hot fudge and mini donut holes.”

Sixty Vines

Houston, TX 77005
(281) 800-8808

Recommended by: Sydney Kempler, Digital Marketing Specialist
“I have celebrated my birthdays here for the last couple of years and it’s the perfect date night spot. Between the high ceilings, the lighting, and the 60 wines on tap along the wall of the bar, the vibes are immaculate. Sit upstairs if you can so you can enjoy the full effect of all those things. Your server should be a wine expert and can help advise you on what to order. I usually get a flight of 3 so I can sample new wines and they’re always delicious! To start, we usually get the Burrata, the Crispy Zucchini, or the Baked Ricotta… or all three. Then I usually have the Braised Pork Pappardelle and my boyfriend gets their Double Cabernet Burger which is always cooked to perfection and comes with the most amazing crispy potatoes on the side. For dessert, we order cappuccinos that come with what can only be described as the best cookies in the world. I don’t know what they are but we always beg for extra… which, of course, they bring us because they’re so great.”

2048 Colquitt St
Houston, TX 77098

“The menu is dynamic and changes frequently, but for an appetizer (small bites), I’d recommend ordering the Texas tartare, you are what you beet(v), and go shorty it’s your birthday.”

Tiny Boxwood’s

“I have spent basically all my money at Tiny Boxwoods – it’s hands-down the best brunch place in Houston!! Their cookies are literally to die for, plus they own Tiny’s Milk & Cookies which is a walk-up/grab & go spot.”

Spring

Wunsche Bros Café & Saloon
103 Midway St
Spring, TX 77373
(281) 350-2233

Recommended by: Jennifer Holloway, Communications Director
“The newly reopened Wunsche Bros is always a good choice! Housed in a beautifully restored historic building in Old Town Spring, it is said to be haunted – ask your server if they’ve had any encounters with Uncle Charlie! Charming ambiance with great food, I recommend the beer bread, sauerkraut balls, and a burger.”

Mia Bella Trattoria
110 Vintage Park Blvd Suite A
Houston, TX 77070
(281) 251-8930

Other locations: Greenway Plaza

Recommended by: Sydney Kempler, Digital Marketing Specialist
“This Vintage Park restaurant is a perfect date night spot complete with high ceilings and mood lighting when sitting indoors and fountain views when sitting outdoors. If you can, ask to sit in the wine room so you can have a little more privacy surrounded by wine bottles. They always make a great cocktail and have a good wine list! We usually start with their beef tenderloin carpaccio or the chef’s board. Sometimes we don’t even get an appetizer and just indulge in all of their delicious focaccia bread. My boyfriend is obsessed with their Pesca Paisano (grilled trout) that comes with the best couscous and a cilantro pesto butter. I almost always go for one of their pastas like the Lamb Shoulder Ravioli or the Potato Gnocchi with basil pesto and ricotta. We usually don’t make it to dessert but when we do I get an espresso martini and my boyfriend gets the key lime pie. The staff are incredibly friendly and the manager is always making her rounds to greet you and ensure your satisfaction. Definitely make a reservation if you’re looking to go for a special occasion. They are also a great takeout option and handle your order with care!”

Start with the Burrata and Prosciutto di Parma and Bruschetta, and for the main course I’d recommend the Tagliatelle with Texas Raised Lamb Sauce (Voted 1st Place 2018 – Italian-American Chamber of Commerce Annual Pasta Contest). For dessert try the Italian Cherry Chocolate Torta topped with English Cream.”
